Artist’s Shroud (2023)

44” x 85”, inkjet print on Belgian linen

Artist’s Shroud is a life-size inkjet print on Belgian linen which lays horizontal on a low plinth in a darkened part of the room. The image was made using photogrammetry, a process used to render 3D models from photographs. Hundreds of photographs of my supine body in a “corpse pose” were used to develop what is called a 3D model point-cloud. The point-cloud approximates my body in space with grayscale dots, sometimes with difficulty distinguishing between my body and the space around it.
